Work, Work, Work

Hello Friends!  The past month has been quite the adventure, filled with musical collaboration and very good times. I'm happy to share with you the big strides that have been made since the last update. All thanks to you!

The last update was filled with what I refer to as my “ROCKIN” side. This month I have spent time in the studio with my “Americana” side. This means Lucas “The Master”Ventura & Rob “Funky Fingers” Hill IN THE HOUSE. Their drum and bass sounds on these tunes are exactly what I imagined. I couldn’t be happier with the way these songs are coming together. In the meantime, I have also managed to get some keys and banjo laid down too. Everything is clicking and grooving and I get more excited each day to share the music.

In mid-May I took a pause from production, taking a vacation from life and work to spend some time at a songwriters retreat, a music camp for songwriters with focused writing time. The rainy and cold week was spent cozied up, writing songs. At the end, a house concert was held featuring all the artists at the retreat. The proceeds of the concert were donated to the Stanley Idaho Elementary School. I was overwhelmed, excited, and inspired after experiencing the incredible talent of those I met. The inspiration fueled 3 songs, a week well spent!

Back to reality and home to record all that inspiration!

In the next few weeks we'll work on getting the tracks completed for the vinyl. It has a longer production time that will need to be completed much earlier than I realized. This means more drums and bass, but also violin, harmonica, keys and banjo into the studio soon. We'll listen through all we've got down then and finish up mixing it all together!

Simultaneously, and throughout the summer, I'll be thinking about album design, collaborating with artists and photographers to nail down some ideas.

This is a big, fun, daunting, and exhilarating project and process that I am only motivated and able to do because of your encouragement and support.

Thank you.
