Steve Fulton is a long time singer-songwriter, producer and recording engineer based in Boise Idaho, where he owns and operates Audio Lab recording studios
A Rich History..
Steve Fulton is an American singer songwriter immersed in the traditions of Americana, folk, and rock genres. From this he has created his own musical recipe with a little funk and reggae occasionally sprinkled in for flavor.
Steve draws from the likes of acoustic-based folk/roots artists like Bob Dylan and John Prine, as well as modern influences such as Bruce Cockburn and Elliot Smith.
The common thread of these influences is the acoustic guitar, featured front and center.
He declared at a very young age his intention to become a musician. The declaration stuck, as his dedication to the art form over time brought him to a lifelong career in music.
Over the course of decades, he progressed through many different eras of music and landed on the folk and rock styles mentioned. Parallel to making music, Steve was also working with other individuals and bands to produce their own records as the owner and operator of Audio Lab Recording Studios (est. in 1992). Much of the music performed in his own studio also had an impact on his own work.
The following are a few highlights of Steve's music career: He was a contestant on the national talent show Star Search in 1992, and his band House of Hoi Polloi was voted best band in Boise 1993-1998 by the Idaho Statesman and Boise Weekly. Steve was also nominated twice as an individual for best musician. In addition, he was awarded the Mayor's Choice award and received a fellowship grant from the Idaho Commission on the Arts in 2009. He has released twelve full-length albums and multiple EP records over the course of his career. Steve has also written and released approximately 200 pieces of music. Furthermore, he composes music for film and television, and recently scored the film Soda Springs. He also wrote the theme music for an Idaho Public Television series called Idaho Experience. Recently, Steve was signed by Emanant Music Group of Atlanta Georgia and Nashville Tennessee.
With all of this rich experience under his belt, he still feels as though he is just getting started, or at least starting an entirely new chapter - if not book - in his music career.
Steve aspires to "live life in music". Always.
